D Goes to Work.

Yes, today is the fateful day D goes back to work. I'm a little nervous about managing everyone when I can't lift the children, but I am TRYING to take it in stride and act casual about it. I'm scared something will go wrong and I won't be able to lift anyone. We're going to do homeschool like a "normal" day and see how things go.

J has been losing some of his signs lately. I have not been able to sit and work with him much at all. Hopefully this week we will get back into the swing of things and he will calm down and remember some of those signs. Maybe even learn some more!!

While D has been home, he has just carried S everywhere. Girly got all used to being toted around all hours of the day, and it's going to be a rude awakening for her when Daddy's gone! Even when I am well, I can't hoist 22 pounds or so on my hip and take it everywhere like it's nothing. I have to use both arms and go short distances, because I can't carry something so short and heavy like that. It's actually easier to carry a longer, heavier child if you can pop his legs around you for balance. He just holds S in one arm and does whatever he needs to 'round the house with the other. Yep, it will be one sad little girl tomorrow, and she will be rotated from the car seat to the floor to the changer... one of those three places. I'm not comfortable with boys bringing her up and down stairs.

OK wish me the best today!! I'm really nervous about it but D HAS to get back to work b/c we already used all our vacation on the baby's birth in January.

  1. My advice is to put baby S in a pram and push her around with you! No picking up at all.... you can even change her nappy in the pram! make the boys do as much as they can to help you too, they are big enough now to be jolly good little mummy helpers. Good luck for tomorrow and the days to come.

  4. I agree with what Chris said. Put her in the stroller. That way she can nap, sit, and eat and be changed in it. Plus if she gets cranky then you can just move her around. It would be easier too because if you had to lift her even just a little bit, it's not as far and the boys could help you with that. Prayers are with you my friend.

  5. The stroller idea is good. It would be a lot easier on you. I hope it all goes well.

Bringing Garbage Home

Some people up the street were throwing this table away. It was in pretty bad shape and one of the legs was off. I've glued the leg back...
