Parents Just Don't Understand

Now that you parents are old and responsible, you shouldn't be thanked for anything you do. That's just something to be expected and part of your job. Quit whining all the time about being unappreciated. You need to just keep providing for your kids just as you did when they were three, but give 'em nicer toys and more freedom. Communication is so important at this age, and that means you'd also better pay attention to their sarcastic and mean comments. Maybe the fact that these poor children need to make them means you need to change something in your life. You might acknowledge that you sure aren't perfect, but that isn't enough because your kid knows wayyy more than you, you stupid old and fat person. (Did I mention you look funny?) It is their house and their rights we're talking about here. Oh. And it is a violation of their freedom of speech that you tend not to lend out your own computers, telephones and the like because you have been mocked by your disrespectful and ungrateful children. Shut up. Do you expect them to fall over themselves every time you drive them someplace? Rides and other extra things are just things you should expect from a good parent. What is wrong with you people??? Be a good parent, already, and give those kids THE RIGHTS THEY DESERVE!

  1. This reminds me of a birthday party I went to when I was a kid. My friend China was adopted by an American couple at birth and always knew she was adopted. They had HUGE parties for her, HUGE. We were in grade school together and for her 9th birthday she had the whole grade to her home. During the middle of the party she asked her Mom to run out and buy Pictionary. It had just come out and it was the only game the kid didn't own. Her Mom refused to leave the party to buy a game that everyone couldn't play together. China stood up and pointedly announced 'If you really loved me, you would just go get it for me!' and then cried like a baby. China's mom left. She came back with the game. China never even opened the box. I remember telling my Mom when I got home how sad I felt for China's Mom that she acted so....but now as a parent, I realize China's Mom TAUGHT her to behave that way. So sad.

  2. Sadly I could not view the video.
But I get the gist from your comments.
Kids don't DESERVE to be pandered to.. but the do deserve all our love and everything they really need. (not want)

  3. Kids are supposed to have all those rights? I must be a bad mum then, because mine didn't.
They got everything they needed, but things they wanted had to be earned. Rooms were kept clean, dishes were washed etc. Heck, I even made them learn to cook and wash their own clothes as soon as they could reach the controls on stove and washing machine. So they'd know how when they left home.

  6. If you get everything you went, it means you didn't have a real childhood!

  7. That's right! We don't. Which is why it is so very important for you to educate yourself, get a job, support yourself and move the heck out. That way your life will be perfect and we will have more money to spend on ourselves!

Bringing Garbage Home

Some people up the street were throwing this table away. It was in pretty bad shape and one of the legs was off. I've glued the leg back...
