Do You Want Some Ebola With That Spaghetti?

I don't feel our government has any of this under control.  I think we're being lied to.  And I think healthcare workers - you know, those people who actually had contact with Ebola? - should be on quarantine for 21 days when they get back to the US.  No reason aid groups can't raise some money and deliver food/ cover some expenses for these folks. (My opinion is based on what little we've been told about the virus and is subject to change without notice.)

So I'm concerned.  And coverage about people hopping onto cruise ships and so forth and gagging all over passengers on crowded subways really doesn't do anything to allay my fears here.  But I'm also not in panic mode.  I'm in "stop it now" mode and I think that's where most reasonable other people are, too.

Anyway, I enjoyed this video about the differences in Ebola coverage between here and the UK.  It has some strong language, but if you're up for that, I hope you enjoy it.

  1. That video is hilarious, I watched it twice. I think that black man with the spaghetti concerns is confusing Ebola with E-coli.
I'm not in panic mode either, but I am being careful. I don't think we've had any cases here in Australia yet.

    1. E coli! WOW - you're probably right! I hadn't thought of all the meatballs... but the "not sleeping with black men" thing sorta proved he had more than just a little mixup there lol!!

  2. Thanks for sharing the video - I too am not sure we are being given the true story and with today's global environment where anyone can just jump on a plane or a boat I am a bit concerned - but not full panic yet.

    1. Yes. I'm also not entirely sure that it is impossible (as they CLAIM) not to have airborne transmission. Hey, if you're sick and you cough and I breathe a droplet? I think it could happen. One also wonders how nurses (who do NOT want to get sick) could be coming down with it if they're in full protective gear. I think it's a little less than truthful, this blaming nurses for violating protocol. I am starting to reason that this is a lie, blaming them so people don't panic, yk?

I can handle the worry if I must; I just don't like being lied to.

  3. oh those nutty black people! Let's find the craziest one out there and do my comedy bit around him!

I do think we (Americans) are over-reacting, and I got pretty twisted up when I heard the president called E-boma. But I reserve the right to freak out if someone vomits near me.

  4. I think anyone who has been in contact with Ebola patients, or worked in an area rife with it should be put in lock down until they are 100% cleared of any symptoms... full stop, end of story!

Bringing Garbage Home

Some people up the street were throwing this table away. It was in pretty bad shape and one of the legs was off. I've glued the leg back...
