I haven't listened yet but being so close to Asia I am well aware of the child sex slave trade. I do not understand how humans can do this to each other but even Joseph's brothers had no problem all the way back then & obviously we have not come very far. Some days I just can't wait on Jesus getting back to sort out the mess we've made of his world.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I guarantee you will NOT be depressed if you listen to all three broadcasts in the series. There are some people out there rescuing these children and kicking BUTT in the court system and bringing this to justice. I'm encouraged not just to feel sorry for these kids but to pray for the rescuers and delight in the fact that every child saved is a child who's gonna have a better life.

Ganeida, I get much more angry at the pedophiles who do this than at the hungry moms and dads who think they're giving their kids better lives. There's a real problem that such fancies are "catered to" instead of deplored in some places.
I agree. What we see here is that pedohpilia is illegal in this country so lots of men travel to Asia for their kicks. It's sick. All the governments concerned are trying to deal with it but it's an uphill battle.
ReplyDeleteWe went to a Christian youth weekend and they showed a segment on this. That weekend, my son gave up his Wednesday fast food meal (as did I) and we sponsored a child at Compassion International. We got a catalog for World Vision and they do have programs in which you can help buy a child out of the sex trade.
