The voice probably bugged you because the inflections were inappropriate to the context of the words. For me, it was a giggle, as it reminded me of our 1980's CPM computer that had a phonetic speaking program that sounded just like that.

Love this! I have taught "adult learners." Adult learning theory is a bunch of hogwash and this is closer to reality.
