Looking
for a concise way to tell friends why you oppose Common Core? Tell
them, ObamaCore is a national education system designed to meet the
demands of the federal government not the dreams of the child. What is
tested is what is taught. What is taught is what is thought. America's
foundation is built on freedom not conformity. -- Spunky Homeschool.

ObamaCore? Kinda tired of the euphemisms. Common core has been around a lot longer than President Obama.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking it's an ObamaCare pun. The idea of socialized medicine has been around longer than Obama, too, but his administration pushes these things. Common Core is beyond any bad idea the last several administrations have had because of its scope and the effect it will have on local control. Another quote she had was that parents shouldn't have to carpool to DC to discuss education in their local school. :)

I don't like common core because it promotes standardized education. Children are persons, not products. They are not going to become lifelong learners if our aim is only to produce good little workers.
