I hear what you're saying and agree with a big caveat. I don't think that the Holy Spirit will allow a saved Christian to REMAIN in darkness indefinitely. You may *begin* life as a Christian cutting your body and worshipping devil spirits and still be a Christian if you lived in New Guinea, but I doubt personally that God would LEAVE you that way if you are exposed to another way of life.
ReplyDeleteWhen I became a Christian I thought that birth control, homosexuality and abortion were just personal choices. I came into contact with other Christians at church and Christian arguments during sermons, radio broadcasts, etc. and became convicted by the Holy Spirit to alter my opinions and base them on the Word of God.
I think that *eventually* a yielded Christian will come more into line with the teachings of Christ if given the opportunity. Just a personal opinion based on personal experience LOL!
But the more I think about it, the LESS biblical some of the teachings of the Catholic church seem to be. They are deserving of some harsh criticism and aside from family weddings, etc, you will NOT find me step into one. However in fairness, some of the "bashing" has been very unfair to their church.

Yeah, my father's side of the family is Irish Catholic. Mostly on the East Coast and go to church during the weddings and baptisms... on the abortion/gay marriage issue probably you'd find more conservative opinions from your local atheists LOL! I think Catholocism on the East Coast is a whole different thing, yk.
