The Romans Are Coming!

We're studying a very brief overview on British history so that we can more fully appreciate Flat Stanley's travels. Did you know that the Romans began their conquest of what is Britain today in AD 43? And that they founded the city of London? We made these shields out of the cardboard that comes with mega-packs of Diet Coke. I've punched a couple holes in the shield and looped some string for them to hold during battle. The boys are trying to give their best soldier poses for the camera.
