How to Draw a Horse.

Elf and Emperor got a "How to Draw Horses and Ponies" kit for Christmas. Here are their creations. Emperor had a VERY HARD time drawing the first oval. Once that was helped with a bit, the rest of the drawing turned out nicely. Elf has decided to use watercolours and Emperor stuck with the more traditional "marker" medium.

  2. Hm. I thought the horses looked rather stoic.

LOL Thanks, Sue! I'll tell them. :]

  4. Those are lovely. Very determined, too. And I especially approve of the palmetto tree in Elf's. (Spent a few months in Charleson, returned to Philly missing my palmettos.)

  7. Cool horses. The do have character. My obsessive daughter was frustrated to tears when she was six because she couldn't get the oval exactly like the one in the book when she was trying to draw a horse. I took the book away. She's much calmer now.

  8. I love the horses!!! My kids were not born to draw . . . Pamela has come a long way, but David has turned his sights on music!

  9. Tammy, I loved Pamela's little chipmunk pics, though!!

Harry, I about fell out of my chair when I read your comment! An hour crying over the oval, is what Emperor did before I told him he HAD to just trace mine and use that.

    Thanks for the compliment, Casdok!

And Chris, yes, you could if you had this book. Lines and ovals. Then they paint/marker over them.

Miss A, Elf would love to see one of these trees, but we live in Missouri. :]

Ganeida, they do have character!! I think it's interesting how they can both follow the same set of directions and come up with such different things.

  10. Both boys did a fantastic job!

I wish I had those "Draw Anything Now" books when I was a kid. I don't see shapes and colors... I don't have an artist eye. But, I bought one of those books for Marissa once and we both spent the whole day drawing.

Bringing Garbage Home

Some people up the street were throwing this table away. It was in pretty bad shape and one of the legs was off. I've glued the leg back...
