Woodjie Dyes Eggs!

Woodjie is having a great time dying Easter eggs. Yes, it's a little early, but I had time this afternoon and we might as well. You can see Elf stim a little bit in the background. Actually he does this a lot and you can tell other kids think he's strange when they first meet him. Woodjie and G have similar stims with arms flapping. :]

  1. That is so cute! You are a great mum. Dye & everything. Oh my!

  2. Now Woodjie has a BRIGHT BLUE goatee, one entirely blue hand, and a blue chest. And a blue smear on his forehead.

The dye is "non-toxic," but D wasn't very pleased with the new look that results from Woodjie taking a good swig.

  3. I find stimming fascinating. Of course, Tink does it a little but the most unblievable thing to me is that Peter is doing it more than Tink and Tink is the one with the sensory issues! Im curious as to what your take on this would be.

  4. I'm seeing Emperor start on it, but I KNOW it's in imitation of the other three. He's nearly eight and only began doing this a couple months ago. He does it mostly when Elf is right next to him doing it.

Emperor BTW is an ADHD/ sensory processing kid. He jumps and hops but I think the stims are entirely voluntary. :] One thing he does is talk constantly even when working. It seems to help him, but he distracts everyone else!

  5. Oh... eggs. I completely forgot that I will have to do those again this year. We stopped when Marissa was 9 and no longer had fun hunting for them. No one (not even the big people) eat them.

  6. You're getting an early start. I'm saving the headache, I mean fun, for a little closer to Easter!

You know, I am not sure I would hve noticed the stimming if you hadn't mentioned it. It just looked like he was really excited. I don't think Nutkin does any stimming with his hands, but then again he has an elbow deformity and very stiff uncoordinated arms and hands. He does eat his clothing, though, does that count? Sigh.

  7. Ohhhhhh, this brings back such sweet memories! I doubt my kid even remembers doing this it was so long ago. You have now officially inspired me. I just have to find a recipe...how long until Easter??

  8. They all look so adorable dying their eggs. Pamela's stims are very mild, and her strongest ones are vocal stims.

We are going to try the natural dyes we did one year! That was fun!

  9. It is early for Easter, but my wife started working on the kids' birthday party last month even though their birthday isn't until June. She wanted to start it before the baby takes up all of her time.

Bringing Garbage Home

Some people up the street were throwing this table away. It was in pretty bad shape and one of the legs was off. I've glued the leg back...
