Hellfire Warning!

I'm worried that some of my fellow Christians aren't up to date on proper theology.  Did you know that the Bible specifically warns Christians that if they vote for a Democrat, that they are going to hell?

If they don't repent in time, that is.    God being merciful and all, he'll forgive you for that Obama vote if you tell him you are really, really sorry in the car on the way home.

Honestly?  Sometimes I really wonder at my fellow Christians and their stupid-butt stances on certain issues/candidates.  But wow.  More wow is that this article has nearly 400 comments!  I laughed at the original article because the logic about makes your head explode.  But the comments.  The comments!

I need to stop reading comments.  :/

  1. I'm in a lot of trouble. :) I've seen this sentiment expressed online, even heard it from the pulpit a time or two.

My feelings? I'll apologize for following my principles when they apologize for following theirs.

    1. Exactly. And I can't say I don't feel realllly doubtful about some people sometimes. But seriously. The dude KNOWS you are going to hell and he has a BIBLE VERSE to back it up.

So you'd better do what he says, Mary...

      :/ Yup. Pretty crazy stuff.

  2. Well, honey, you know what Sister Cazimir used to say..."if your conscience doesn't convict you it's not a sin. "

Being a good little catholic girl I used to argue that point with her. Of course it was a sin, regardless. Had I not grown up, I probably could have made that video, too!

Every time I think I'll lose my mind, a sensible woman like you comes along and puts it to rest! This was timely. <3

  3. Hmm... I wonder how this guy reconciles Christ's words, "My kingdom is not of this world..."

My politics are based upon an obscure verse in 1 Samuel 8, "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king." Wanting a strong human government to enforce our morals is a rejection of God's ability to govern.

Furthermore, if you keep reading, "This is what the king who will reign over you will claim as his rights: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants. He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants. Your male and female servants and the best of your cattle and donkeys he will take for his own use. He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day."

Yep, that sounds about like what is happening in the US today. I will continue voting Libertarian.

Bringing Garbage Home

Some people up the street were throwing this table away. It was in pretty bad shape and one of the legs was off. I've glued the leg back...
