The Godmakers

Thanks, Virginia, for this clip on Mormon theology. If you are Mormon and feel it is inaccurate, I'd sure welcome your response as well. The object is not to offend people, but to get truth out.

  1. Hey, and before anyone says anything... yes, it's hokey and obviously very old. But I wonder if the cartoon is an accurate overview of Mormon theology.

  2. I don't know if you have any Mormons that look at your blog. All I'm gonna say is I am having to bite my tongue until it bleeds right now.

  3. Oh, I don't think I do, BUT sometimes when you link to something, people following that topic will come see what's up.

Seriously. I posted once on "Tony Alamo's" church and got comments months later. So it's possible.

I'm not trying to mock people who are Mormon, but if this cartoon is correct in its depiction of theology (nevermind the hokiness a sec), I wonder at folks who say that Mormons are Christians.

    That's all.

Hey... I wanna know what you think, too. :]

  4. Well, if this video is accurate, Mormons are not Christians. From what I know I really don't understand why people would join the Mormon church other than being deceived or because they were born into it and are brainwashed. That video is like Scientology with a Christian flair. I was waiting for a Tom Cruise cameo. Are you still wondering what I think?

  5. The sad thing is that in the mormon religion, you don't even find out this stuff until you are much deeper into it. Even my dad the other day ran into a mormon and asked him about all this stuff. It took a long time but he finally admitted that everything in this video is true. He told my dad that most mormons don't know till they study the roots of the religion and get much deeper into it. It is by far not Christianity and is exactly what Satan would say, "you will become a God". That's a old trick he's used since the beginning of time. and... men still fall for it to this day.

  6. Meant to tell you that there is a whole video you can buy The Godmakers. This is just one small clip. You will see many people talking about their experience growing up in it and what it was like trying to get out of it. There is just so much to this that even some mormons don't realize. They would never tell them this stuff right up front because no one would go for it. It's called "conditioning".

  7. Good point, Virginia!

Hmm... not sure what Catherine is thinking... maybe she thinks Tom Cruise should play "Mormon Jesus?" LOL

  9. This video is absolute garbage and if you really want to know the truth about the mormon church talk to a mormon not an ex mormon or a bucnh of uneducated men that can't get their facts straight. Or call the missionaries. I'm sorry, but as a mormon I can say this video is absolutely false and offensive. Doesn't it make a bit more sense to get your facts from someone who is mormon instead of antimormon literature? Do you really think these people are representing the church with the truth....of course not. Go to Lds.org, talk to the missionaries and pray about it. Please find out for yourself and don't listen to this junk.

Bringing Garbage Home

Some people up the street were throwing this table away. It was in pretty bad shape and one of the legs was off. I've glued the leg back...
