I'm not sure why some things are in the news. Why do I need to know that a crazy parent who killed her kids "homeschooled" th...
My goodness. This is... just weird. Yes, it is a beautiful house but they just tore it up. How did you get pics of it? Is it for sale? Are you going to buy it? We bought a house for real cheap one time when I was younger because the house wasn't cared for and was torn up. There was even a tree and beer cans inside the backyard empty pool. They had it up for bid and people would just shake their head and walk away. My parents were able to buy it for $45,000. Whatever kids lived in this house you are showing pictures of, I hope the kids are okay. I'm not trying to be critical either, but I just kind of wonder.
ReplyDeleteOh, response to your comment. I had to wait till it was snack time and because the guys got up, I was able to grab a computer. I can't even begin to try and pronounce the spanish words you wrote to me to say! LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL. I know you disagree with me at times, but you still are a good blogging friend. Sometimes I bet you want to knock me upside the head and set me straight. Ha ha. I'm glad I'm way over here! :D Thanks for the encouragement. You know, some people here just do one study a month or even every two months and that is there living. You can make up to about $7,000 for one study.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures just make me feel sad and very tired.. a friend of mine used to work with homeless teenagers, teaching some of them basic lifeskills such as personal hygene and very basic cooking. Some of the 'squats'(abandoned buildings) that the kids slept in were very similar to that house. One girl didn't know what fresh vegetables were and had absolutely no idea what to do with a potato. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteWhere did these pictures come from? I'm thinking there's some sort of backstory here....
ReplyDeleteHouse is certainly in rough shape...
(I followed a link on Mrs D's blog and landed here *waves hello* )
Molytail, thanks for visiting! The house is one that D was looking into buying and fixing up. Foreclosure. It actually used to be a plantation house and the "slave quarters" is a small house across the street (different property now though)! It probably would have a lot of stories if it could talk.
ReplyDeleteKim, hearing this kind of thing makes me wonder why they don't teach home maintenance (cleaning cooking and laundry, anyway) in grade school. To my mind this is just as important as reading. As you can see in our homeschool we're doing basic cooking (mixes) with the 8 and 7 year olds. They fold washcloths and will run the machine around 10 or 12. :]
Virginia, only a few more days!! $$$
I see photos like this and think "how sad"... but I know that there is not much I can do about it either..
ReplyDeleteOur house gets messy because of the kids, but not like that. Not even close.
