Some Parents Should NOT Homeschool Their Kids.

Yep, I admitted that much to Dianne when I read her shocking story about a mom pretending to have a downed wire by her place so the electric crews would fix up her area first.

Oh, no, I'm not saying that the state is a better mommy than most of us, but unless we're willing to pay a LOT more in taxes and give up a LOT of our freedoms, abuse won't even be diminished, let alone eliminated.

Look at this story. When Junior gets home from public school, just chain him to this 21-pound ball so he can't get out until his homework is done. Fire? Uncontrollable diarrhea? Too bad! The old ball-and-chain is in place.

Way to make him feel good about learning. Eeesh.

Maybe some parents shouldn't send their children to public school, either. THEY should take classes on how to parent. Oh, great. I just realized there *was* such a thing. And I was getting all snarky and sarcastic, too. Ruined the effect.

PS. YES, now everyone knows Michael Jackson's kids were homeschooled. So are just about everyone's kids in Hollyweird. In fairness, if Dad/ kid stars are out touring or working all over the world, it makes sense. But hiring a private tutor and taking personal tours of Europe with native tour guides isn't the usual homeschooling experience, mmmmkay?

  1. Regardless of home school or public school, some people just shouldn't be parents. Reminds me of the story of a mom who pretended her kid was terminal so she could get donations.

  4. I knew a lady that came to our church faking that she had luekemia so she'd get money. Our church was on to her and found out what was going on. She was shopping LOTS and kept switching churches when they would find out. Another came in saying he was blind. We knew something was up because when he'd sing in choir, he would look someone right into the eye. Or when you called to him, he would turn, look straight in your eyes and then try to look away some. When no one was looking, like if you saw him at the mall, his cane was gone, and he was doing great walking around looking at stuff. It's so weird how people would go so far for sympathy or to get money. How about getting a real job and making money? Ha ha... might help your self esteem some also.

Bringing Garbage Home

Some people up the street were throwing this table away. It was in pretty bad shape and one of the legs was off. I've glued the leg back...
