Saying Goodbye

Our fourth-grade Singapore math books and some of our ABeka readers went into the homeschool storage box a bit ago. As excited as the children were at the prospect of receiving NEW books, they were sad to see the old ones go. But Mom is a bit picky about the pricey curriculum stuff. It goes back into storage so we don't lose it. Many of the regular books we read (such as the Wizard of Oz and the like) are still on the children's shelves. I will pick those out for Woodjie and Rose as there is interest later. I keep praying that Woodjie will need to use one of the math books that is now tucked away.

  1. The expression on your son's face reminds me of my daughter whenever we have to put anything in storage or dispose of it. She once had a 30 minute meltdown because our refrigerator stopped working and we had to get rid of it and buy another one.

  3. The picture is really sweet!

We have had books that Tyler didn't want to put away either. We had a great unit study book on Africa last year that was a real tearjerker to part with. I am a bookaholic and have trouble getting rid of any of them! Even the ones I know we will never need again. (Okay maybe not the spelling books!)

I am praying that Woodjie will use your books too!

  4. Rose, Elfie cried for a whole day when we had to replace our couch! It was awful for him!

Sue, hopefully all of us in this little blog circle with special kids will have very used curriculum in a few years. Just tattered! :]

Oh, Bronwyn and the fact that you have to move frequently means you can't just set it aside for later. You have to be sure you need it. Ouch!

    Thank you, Mom 4 Kids!

  7. My wife is more sneaky. She hides things when the kids are asleep.

  8. I'm not above that. I think that's what happened to the boys' Spongebob underwear...

Bringing Garbage Home

Some people up the street were throwing this table away. It was in pretty bad shape and one of the legs was off. I've glued the leg back...
