Sunday Selections

I don't know what it is about Emperor and his hair. He's always TWISTING it. Constantly. As you can see in the top picture, his hair was actually getting frayed and somewhat burnt from the constant twisting and pulling. He was also starting to develop redness on his scalp.
*
He was told he would just plain and simple need a haircut. There was a lot of screaming and crying about this, particularly after I had to get the electric haircutting equipment out. It was too matted and damaged for just a scissor cut. "Ow-ow-OWWW!" he'd yell. Well, it looks like you have a LOT of tangles, I'd tell him. You haven't been combing your hair very well. "Combing my HAIR??! You never told me I had to do that!" Um. I'm pretty sure I did.
*
Maybe I've just let things go, figuring that you were mature enough to remember every day. You know, sort of like the "wash your hands" thing we went through. "What? You never told me I had to use soap!" and apparently I never told him he needed to wash after using the restroom, and I never told him that if he accidentally doesn't wash well enough, but gets POOP on a hand towel, that the towel needs to go into the laundry and then you need to wash your hands a-gainnn. ("What? Then there would be no towel hanging there!!" And yes, I really heard that complaint and had to explain that Mom is -or maybe even someday YOU could be - quite capable of procuring another from the linen closet.)
*
So. We got through a lot of screaming and crying and accusations of maternal hate, somehow. Then Emperor was instructed to go wash himself in the tub... and... the second picture demonstrates clearly that I didn't tell him he had to rinse his hair. I also didn't tell him he needed to use SHAMPOO instead of just green goat's milk soap. At least he put "deroaderant" on, he told me. D made him go take off his clothes and get another bath.
*
Aah. Do you like the final picture? Emperor kept flicking off the light switch with his left hand when I tried to get his photo for the blog. Look for more Sunday Selections at Kim's blog. :)

  1. I used to hate haircuts, but now there no biggie, i even let my mom or sister cut my hair (and thats a lot of trust) ... I know that when your getting to the point where your hair sticks up in the morning and you dont wanna comb it, it's time for a cut.

What i usually do is grow it out in the winter and cut it short in the summer. That way i don't have to worry as much about getting greasy hair. Though, i always used to hate taking showers. The older you get, the more excepting of things you are. I used to hate haircuts, now i want them. Likewise with showers, though i don't take baths anymore.

I think he looks cool with a unique hair style in the first too, it might have started a trend ;)

P.S, Five second rule! ... still works great for me, lol ;)

  3. Based upon the evidence of not being able to hear you, I bet you didn't tell him to clean the wax out of his ears either . . . It could be the root cause of his problem IF his assertions are correct. :-P

Bringing Garbage Home

Some people up the street were throwing this table away. It was in pretty bad shape and one of the legs was off. I've glued the leg back...
