Darren is a math teacher in California who had a horrible skiing accident earlier this year. He'd like to take a refund on the trip he prepaid to Iceland. He's not even able to walk yet; recovery is still several months away. I think he is only barely able to sit up in the car instead of lying... no way he can fly yet. Will you help him by asking folks politely to please give him a refund?
His original post is here. Thanks. :)

ReplyDeleteI can ride in cars now--can even drive, since I have a standard transmission and my right leg is fine, but can only do so for short distances with no traffic. And it takes me a couple of minutes to get into a car--recline the seat, "scootch" myself in until I'm far enough back to get my rigid left leg into the car, elevate the seat, adjust forward. Well choreographed!
I'm actually looking forward to starting physical therapy tomorrow so that I can start walking again. It will be 2x a week for 12 weeks. It's been 8 1/2 weeks since the accident. They tell me that so far, it looks like I can expect a full recovery in 6-12 months (from the date of injury).
