We bought two boxes of mix and doubled the eggs, oil and water. Actually this was extremely difficult work. The children really, *really* struggled with doubling 3/4 cup of water. I kept trying to explain that it's really 2/1 times 3/4 and how to multiply the fractions and they are JUST NOT ready for that. OK. So how many quarters of a cup do we need to make this 3/4 of a cup one full cup? Can we talk about that, maybe? Aaarrgh. We can't talk about that without answers like "20" popping up. Well, they doubled the teaspoons of oil and the number of eggs just fine, though. As much work as it took me *trying* to explain the fractions again, I'm counting this as being half math time!!
