We learned in Social Studies a bit ago that we get the word "robot" from a Czech word for the forced work of a peasant. I promised the boys after our current unit on the environment (Lifepac Grade 2 book 8, and additional field trips and books) that we would spend a little time learning about robots. I'm having a little trouble finding stuff that is not technical but does not have cartoons and titles like, "Go, Robot, Go!" I've reserved a few things on inter-library loan, but the problem with that is that you really don't know if it's "good" or not until you get it home and look at it. But the Emperor is fascinated with robots. This one is made from linking stars and a little pop-up spring monster for its head.06 November 2007
